Hi Mary W. How odd. I was only quoting Mrs. Agnes Ross, nee Agnes Ann Armstrong who wrote her "History of the Switzers from before 1700" in 1928 when, I believe, she would have been in her 70's. What is odd is that I believe she too grew up in the St. Mary's area. Certainly her father, Thomas Armstrong, farmed on the Mitchell Road. I checked another source I have and it gives only a birth date for Mary Switzer of 1778? and marriage to Shier?. Do you have further information on her so I can update my family trees.
