Terry, I checked out the Corneil site and sure enough, it says that Adam Cornelius was born in Limerick circa 1680, but I wonder......... I notice that all the dates given before 1742 are "circa". Is there any documentation that the family was there that early? Hank Jones says they were part of the 1709 group. I've run into the situation before where people presume that a family has always lived in the same local and make an "educated guess" as to birthplace. The 'World Family Tree' has supplied a lot of misinformed birth dates with its extrapolations too. I raise the red flag only because I labored for years under the mistaken impression (my own) that my direct ancestors had arrived in America on the same ship with Barbara Ruckle Heck. I felt really dumb when it first occurred to me that they may not have arrived much before the earliest records I could find dated 1822. I hope this warning saves someone from trying to climb "stone walls" that don't really exist, or better yet, that the descendants of Adam Cornelius find all the documentation they could ever ask for going back a thousand years.............Karen Opgenorth
