References have been made to a "Book of Palantine Families of New York" by Henry Z. Jones, Jr. This is actually a set of two books with one index in 2nd book, first printed in 1985, 2nd printing 1990 & 3rd printing 1995. In addition Mr Jones also published his findings in another book known as "More Palantine Families" in 1991 These may be available at the larger libraries. To order them from inter-library loan, one would need to know which book to order. Hope this helps Norma ----- Original Message ----- From: "Casey Family" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2001 7:36 PM Subject: [IP] Palatine Families of Ireland > ==== IRL-PALATINE Mailing List ==== > You can't plough a field merely by turning it over in your mind. >
Dear Liz Haren, I'm afraid you will be swamped with requests for copies ot "Palatines", but I also would appreciate a copy if that is still possible. I am descended from Peter Sparling ( also Shier and Fissell) of Limerick and New York, who came with the United Empire Loyalists to Nova Scotia at the end of the American Revolution. Eventually this family settled in North Sydney Nova Scotia. Ok, I weighed this "thing" today and it weighs 1 pound 8 oz or 24 ounces. For mailing anywhere in the US the cost is $3.95 (2 pound mail rate) For mailing to Australia, Europe, England, the cost is $19.20 (24 x .80) For mailing to Oh! Canada the cost is $14.40 (24 x .60). (lots of you Palatines in Canada!) I made 20 sets today and have about 12 requests so far. Since I'll put this thru the company postage meter, its best to reimburse my company. You can make the check out to (and mail it as well to): TKL Research 4 Forest Avenue Paramus, NJ, USA 07652 Put "Palatine" on the envelope. I get the mail, but just in case I'm out that day. Make sure your address is enclosed with the check. Unfortunately it has to be in US Dollars. If you changed your mind about the manuscript because of the price of postage, just let me know! I can also make more copies, so don't worry if the requests exceed 20. Take care, Liz Haren
Hello Liz: I would very much appreciate receiving a copy of "Palatines". It's quite obvious, from the responses you're getting, that you've got your hands on some material that is of great interest to many of us. It's so kind of you to share your good fortune. My check will be in the mail tomorrow morning. Carol Coope 11060 N. Canada Ridge Drive Tucson, Arizona 85737-8559

Dear Liz, How kind of you to offer to share the photocopy of the FHC's "Palatines". I would certainly appreciate a copy. Would you like me to send the postage ahead of time - or wait and remit the proper amount when it arrives ? Either way is fine with me. My mailing address is: Mrs. Muriel Baerg, 91 Adel Drive, St. Catharines, Ontario. L2M 3W9. I am researching the Switzer and St.John families of County Limerick. Just let me know where to send my remittance. Thanks for your generosity. Liz, That is a very generous labour of love offer. I would be grateful if you could run off a copy for me. If you can give me an idea of the postage cost to the UK I would be happy to send payment before you mail the bundle. Hi Liz, What an offer you have made, I think you will be inundated with requests, it sounds too good to be true! How many pages does the copy run into. I live in Australia and would love a copy but not sure how I will be able to send you US dollars. If you could give me an idea of what postage might be I will find out the best way I can get the money to you first.
