Clogher Historical Society Last week I read Vol 11, No 2 which includes Dr. James Donnelly Parish Priest of Roslea (1857-65), and then Vol 11, No. 1 (1892) that included Dr. James Donnelly's Letters to His Roman Agent, 1861-92 (With Extracts from His Journal. Fr. Donnelly traveled through parts of the US in the earlier 1850's raising funds for the Catholic University of Ireland. He had an ascerbic tongue. One reader wrote that even though it can be funny, it was not meant that way!! They were good reads and informative on early days in the US and in Ireland. Many issues of the Clogher Record are available at jstor.
