Do you know a place in Monaghan I can visit when I go to Ireland to do research? There are lots of Corrigans scattered throughout Monaghan, no Crossins, but one Crossan in Magheross civil parish, which also has two Corrigans. This suggests that your ancestors came from south Monaghan. > > Next time you post, be sure to put their names in the subject line so if some distant relative searches the archives in a few years, he or she will spot your post. > > Diane > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: D Corrigan <corrigan_diana@hotmail.com> > To: IRL-MONAGHAN <IRL-MONAGHAN@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Mon, Aug 13, 2012 7:56 am > Subject: [IRL-MONAGHAN] <no subject> > > > I am looking for any information about a John Corrigan born around > 1800-1810 who married a Margaret Crossin born around same time. I have a locally published book on Donaghmoyne parish history, mainly Gaelic football. Dated 1986. In the list of book sponsors there are these CORRIGANS; Ann Dunaree Bridge Drumberagh Bridget Drumberagh Dympna Drumberagh Johnny Dunaree Peter Castleblayney I doubt they will know of any ancestors that far back in time. When I met my father's 1st cousin there in 1987 I had to tell him who his uncles were ! Theo McMahon is a good researcher there. For info on him, contact Ann Harney at her Monaghan website; She knows him. http://ahd.exis.net/monaghan/ Her email address is here; http://ahd.exis.net/monaghan/mcgeough.htm At 08:06 AM 4/17/2013, you wrote: >Do you know a place in Monaghan I can visit when I go to Ireland to >do research? >Diana > -----Original Message----- > From: D Corrigan <corrigan_diana@hotmail.com> > To: IRL-MONAGHAN <IRL-MONAGHAN@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Mon, Aug 13, 2012 7:56 am > > I am looking for any information about a John Corrigan born around > 1800-1810 who married a Margaret Crossin born around same time. Monaghan Co Library in Clones is pretty good. Also the Clocher society in McCartan's College (spelling is terrible) just north of Monaghan town is great.
