hi, I wonder if anyone on the list is researching the HANRATTY family from CORDUFF (Kelly) ?? My g-g-Grandmother was Anne HANRATTY, b: 1846 in CORDUFF (KELLY), Co. Monaghan. Her Father was Andrew, and her Mother was Elizabeth REILLY. Anne married John McGUIRK of Annagally, Killylough. Any input would be most welcome. Regards, SEAN

Hello Sean. I am researching the Hanratty family, my g/grandmother being Alice Hanratty b c1841. Unfortunately don't have an area for her, however the information I do have is as follows. Alice Hanratty married Edward Fagan c1860 - cant find a marriage record They lived in Corcullioge in Co Monaghan in 1872 where a son Edward was born They lived in Hackballs Cross and Haggardstown in Co Louth where Thomas and Bridget were born. Another daughter Annie was born North Shields Northumberland 1866 died Barronstown County of Louth and Armagh. Alice and Edward had 10 children, Peter, Mary, Anne, Thomas, Bridget, Edward, Alice, Anne, John and Edward. These children were born 1862-1885.I have managed to track Peter, Mary, Anne, Bridget, Edward, Alice (my g/mother), Anne, and Edward. This family to'd and fro'd from Monaghan and Louth to North Shields where they eventually settled around 1874/5. I have been in touch with a Hanratty descendant who says he remembers a Fagan and Hanratty family living next to the church in Corduff - but have not confirmed this information. I would be ever so pleased to get to the bottom of this evasive family and look forward to your reply.
