How coincidental! I was just about to reply that it was probably Drumsheaver when I saw this post. The reason I thought this was that I was looking through the wills abstracts at www.proni.gov.uk for McCabe and came across one Patt McCabe of Drumshavera. I'd strongly advise people to search these and the original documents will be available soon too. They can be a great way of finding clues to other relations. An example is here below... "Forename: Patt Surname: McCabe Alt Surname: Date Of Death: 06/06/1894 Date Of Grant: 27/03/1895 Effects: Effects £94 Registry: Armagh Full Abstract: The Will of Patt M'Cabe late of Drumshevera County Monaghan Farmer who died 6 June 1894 at same place was proved at Armagh by Thomas Lamb and Patt Clerkin both of Drumdesco in said County Farmers the Executors." If you find your family were from Drumsheaver and any connection to McCabe, I'm sure my new contact would be interested to hear. John: I'll bet Drumshavera is Drumsheaver townland, which is in Tedavnet civil, Tydavnet RC parish. Have you checked the LDS film for the church records, and also looked for the civil record of James's 1870 birth? Diane
