Hi All, After touting these sites to many people requesting the Monaghan Story Index, I thought I would remind people of these great resources, especially while the newspaper site is still free to use. I cannot stress enough how much can be gained.. Information and articles from 1800 to 1900.... The first site is here http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/ All you need to do is register and it costs nothing. When registering, for institution put none and also put none for phone. Make sure to give your proper email address as they will send you login details and password. If you do a basic search it¹s best to only use one keyword but if you get too many hits try doing an advanced search using 2 keywords in separate boxes and change the options from Keyword(ke) to entire document(tx)¹ in the dropdown menus, then type one word in each box. Try variations of spellings too if you can¹t find anything. There are a number of collections but be sure to check out the 19th Century British newspapers and the 19th Century US Newspapers, which have tons of Irish news. Another site is this site http://www.eppi.ac.uk/eppi/digbib/home Some great parliamentary papers on here. Claire McConville
