Hi Before I cause any "contoversy" that seems to have popped up on another list......let me say.... I'm taking a little break from posting sites lol. It seems some may think my postings are irrevalent to the "Irish" county lists I posted on. They think what I have posted is just "American History". So before it starts let me explain why I sent all that I did, to quelch anything that may arise. I thought they were important in that many Irish immigrants from these counties came here and some of you "abroad" may want sites in ref to searching for them. I was drawn to these sites because of people from these lists who asked me..." an ancestor of mine, a child is on the NYC census in an Institution....why? What happened to her family? Could they have died on ship? If an ancestor died on ship where would they be?"or "Where do I go for NYC marraige certs?" Etc. So being the person I am...and honestly loving the hunt lol..and knowing just how great so many of you have been to me.....my fingers went a typing lol. I traveled thru site after site....and I must say, tho ashamed to admit it, lol I learned so much myself, and I was amazed at what I found. Yes I saved sites...but then it occured to me if these people want this info maybe somehow others do too, and by saving them chances are they may be forgotten in my "save file" or looked over in the future. I thought of how everyone has been so helpful to me, esp those of you in Ireland and abroad, that I so wanted to give back if even in just a small way and thought this was my chance to do just that. PLUS and this is the main reason....there are so few if any Irish records left to find information in.....here in the US our records are good. ..and intack...and have some great details on them.....that perhaps in some way...there can be info...a name, a maiden name, a town, a year....that is in an ancestors US record that can help someone trace back to the original town in that County and give that clue that they need so badly. Maybe even that "maiden name" that was never known and now opens a whole new door to research back in Ireland. So I did it! lol I hit that send button.....tho in my mind I did think...I hope this is ok....and I tried hard to control myself...See I was getting very excited at what I was finding and as they say " I wanted to share the wealth!!! lol So TY to all of you who asked for the info because I learned so much myself from searching for them. I must admit I have gotten many, many emails from listers that "have" found that small piece of info that is helping them and that makes me so happy! Because of that I will not STOP sending sites but I will definitely try to "space" them better, so as not to over run the lists with posts.lol. To those of you who might feel my "posts" were un-necessary, unwanted, cluttering..whatever..I am sorry you feel that way and Im sorry none of what I sent can help you. It was only done with the intentions of helping, and some were helped, so it served it's purpose. And I pre-apoligize for any annoyance or whatever that you feel. I apologize if in my enthusiam of trying to "give back" and sharing what I found ,to all those who have helped me in "Ireland" and elsewhere in the past, became to some "too much". I never intended for it to be. I guess my enthusiasm got the best of me. In the realm of things we can only hope that one day someone may post something that perhaps others may think un necessary but that we will find is the greatest "piece of info" for our own personal search. I have learned.......never leave any stone un turned for you never know what might be there. I hope I have averted any problems.... and again I am sorry if any of you were inconvienced or overwhelmed by the number of posts, but now my fingers have the itch to "search" thru the web lol.Take care.........and great Hunting!!!! .Sue in NY **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros.
