Hello, I'm new to the list, but have read some of the archives. I'm sure I will find help here. I've just started to research my GGrandfather John C. McCague. I'm told he was born in Derrilla, Tydavnet (or is it Tydevnet?), Monaghan, Ireland on Dec 24, 1862. However, I cannot find who his parents might be. I do know he had a brother names Patrick born in 1853, and a sister named Rose born in 1857, but that's it. John was sent to London, England when he was around 10 or 12 years old to apprentice to become a tailor, and there met and married my GGrandmother. I'm not sure how to proceed in finding those who came before him, so would appreciate any guidance anyone can give. I do not know if he was Protestant or Catholic. I'm excited to belong to the list, and I'm sure I'll be learning a lot! Diana in Fort Lauderdale, FL USA
