    2. I am having no success in tracing my 2nd great-grandparents – CATHERINE MONCRIEF and JOHN SPOTTEN. CATHERINE was b. abt 1813 in Monaghan m. JOHN SPOTTEN(unk date)in Monaghan They had 3 children while in Monaghan 1 – Robert - b. abt. 1844 2 – Anne Jane – b. 9 July 1847 3 – John Jr.- January 1852 and 4- Susan - b. November 1855 in Phoenixville, PA. JOHN SPOTTEN came to Philadelphia December 15, 1851 on the “Mary Pleasant” from Liverpool. CAHTERINE MONCRIEF SPOTTEN – Arrived, with the 3 children, in Philadelphia 26, October 1852 on the Ship "Kalamazoo". from Liverpool' Reason for MONAGHAN being underlined and in italics is that after many years of researching this family, I am wondering whether they were actually from Monaghan. Irish, yes – Monaghan ?. I was told, by an outstanding Irish researcher, that is from where they came. He even included a map Along the way, many people have tried to help givingme addresses of Spottens in Monaghan to whom I have written…….No answers………Asmost genealogist, I would like to get back another generation……-------HELP IS REALLY NEEDED------------------…vldg
