I am having no success in tracing my James Ford, born about 1822 in Monaghan (according to his marriage certificate and the birth certificates of his children). He married Ellen Butler of Tipperary, in St. Francis' Church, Melbourne, on 22 April 1844. Their children were born in Geelong, Victoria, the first child being Jane, born in 1845. The girls later married in Ballarat, Victoria. There are 5 or 6 James Fords in Victoria in the same time, varying from miners, turnkeys, carters, graziers, surgeons etc. I have not been able to find a death for either my Ellen or my James. Also, on Saturday 15 Jul 2000 a message was posted by "Robyn from Oz" (with an email address which is no longer valid): Am looking for further information re a James Ford who married Prudentia Hook., had a daughter Eliza b. 1819 in Ballyboy Co, Monaghan. Only other info is the family migrated to Australia on the "Strathfieldsaye" in 1840. Many thanks Robyn from Oz.. I am very anxious to get in touch with Robyn, if anyone can help.
