I've done research in Monaghan for a few people, the main problem I have is getting the information in concise form from the person wanting research done. I've had to email them maybe 6 times to get the story straight before even starting looking in order to just get the facts straight on who is who. The history of what they did after arriving in US etc clouds everything, like they had 6 children there, they moved from NY to Boston etc has nothing to do with finding them in Ireland.. What you really need to do is cut everything down to a mimimum..known names, religion, dates, facts etc for their time in Ireland, up to when they landed in US, ship record, etc . Don't forget than an hour or two can't be wasted just trying to get the known facts straight and this is charged for. There's a lot of information already available on line, many people here help as much as possible, so exhaust everything before looking for a researcher, the 1901 census is coming online soon.
