Dave, RE: 12th May 1811 William Dawson, aged 22, Cormeen married Jane Beatty, age 19, Cordressigo at Ematris. This email made me prick up my ears. Do you think that this William DAWSON may belong in the following DAWSON family? If so, do you happen to know more about the Margaret (whose last name I don't know) who died in 1773 in Rockcorry. Part of my interest is in the OLIVERs of Cordressigo who turn up in the 1911 census (see beneath). Anyway, here is what I have on these DAWSONs: Descendants of Margaret Unnamed 1 Margaret Unnamed d: 22 Oct 1773 in of Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan .. +Unnamed Dawson d: Bef. 1773 ........ 2 Elinor Dawson ............ +Andrew Oliver b: 1748 in Probably Tullymore, Parish of Armagh, Co. Armagh d: Bet. 1788 - 1793 in of Newtownhamilton m: 1771 in Tullnaloob, Co. Fermanagh, Ireland ........ 2 Elizabeth Dawson ............ +William Aston ........ 2 Susanna Dawson ........ 2 Samuel Dawson d: Bet. 1776 - 1778 in of Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan ........ 2 Margaret Dawson The Elinor DAWSON who married Andrew OLIVER had a number of children - but I do not know any of their names. SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1777Sept8_OLIVER-VERNER.html and http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1785Oct26_OLIVER-McMATH.html This is why I found it interesting when the 1901 census showed the following OLIVERs in Cordressigo: Descendants of Unnamed Oliver 1 Unnamed Oliver .. +Elizabeth Possibly d: in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ........ 2 William Oliver b: Abt. 1831 in Monaghan d: Aft. 1911 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............ +Mary Unnamed b: 1836 m: 1877 d: Aft. 1911 ........ *2nd Wife of William Oliver: ............ +Unnamed m: 1877 d: Bet. 1867 - 1877 ................... 3 John Oliver b: 1867 d: Aft. 1911 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ....................... +Mary Unnamed m: 1898 ............................. 4 William Oliver b: 1899 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 Jane Oliver b: 1901 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 William John Oliver b: 1902 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 Susan Oliver b: 1903 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove The only other clue that I can offer is that these OLIVERs were Church of Ireland. Does anyone have further thoughts?
