On his (Aust.) marriage certificate he states his place of birth as Aughdissy (sorry spelling will be wrong, I can't read the writing), Co. Monaghan. Then on his son's birth certificate he names his place of birth as Emyvale, Co Monaghan On his marriage certificate he names his parents as Ross McKenna and Mary McKenna. We know he had a sister Catherine because we have letters from her daughter Mary McKenna - so Catherine's married name was McKenna too. Catherine had daughters named Rose, Catherine and Mary and at least one son. Rose emigrated to America and Mary was there at some time because one of letters comes from there (Rose married a James McBride and lived in Paterson, N.J.) In the letter that Mary writes to inform of her mother's death on 12 September 1912 - she said she "brought her home to Errigal Trough, she was buried in the grave with her father and mother". Catherine and her mother were living in Belfast (I have seen the 1911 census). I would like to find out more information about Ross and Mary McKenna and details of the children that they had. I would like to know where to search online. And it is possible a relative will be traveling to Ireland this year, so we would like to know places that she could visit to search for records. I would appreciate any help you can give, Cheers, Karen (Australia) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star.
