James Ryan's "Irish Records: Sources for Family and Local History" is an excellent reference, published in 1997. It is a major expansion of an earlier book of Ryan's, and was published in both the US and Ireland. It contains in its 668 pages separate chapters for each Irish county, with lists of records of various religious faiths, including available dates, and other material, as well as general Irish research advice and details. In the US, it was published by Ancestry, Inc., and is rather expensive but well worth it. In the US, most major libraries with genealogy collections and genealogical societies with libraries probably will have it in their collections. It can be purchased through a number of US on-line sources and also some genealogical societies with books for sale also carry it. In Ireland, it was published by The Flyleaf Press in Dublin, which apparently is the sole source there. In other countries, try genealogical book sources/libraries/etc.
