I am looking for information on Sarah Cassidy nee Murray, and Cormick Cassidy. Sarah was born in 1796, and married Cormick Cassidy to whom she had four daughters and a son in Monaghan. She was 40 years old when she was arrested and sent for trial in Co. Monaghan in October 1836. She was sentenced to 7 years transportation to New South Wales. Sarah was allowed to bring two of her children, Elizabeth aged 8 and Maryann aged 11 with her. A third daughter, Catherine, aged 18 arrived later that year after being convicted of an offence. Strangely the convict indent says both parents are living but describes Sarah as a widow. I do not know what happened to the son and daughter left behind. If anyone else is researching the Cassidy's or Murray's I'd be interested to hear from you. Regards Kerrie Stephens
