    3. If your Faulkners were Protestants, you can find the records of the two marriages you mentioned, fairly easily. At you local FHC, rent the Index to Marriages for Ireland for the years you want. Once you have the index, find the names and it will give you the registry office where the marriage was recorded, and the volume and page number of the record. Now send for the films with the actual records. You will get names of fathers of both spouses and their occupations, the ages and occupations of the spouses, and their residence (usually townland and parish), and location & kind of service for the wedding. For date of immigration, I would check the 1900 census if they were still alive then, as this census gives the year of arrival. I imagine California censuses might also yield this info, but I'm not familiar with the questions on CA censuses.
