John Davis married Maria Bell on September 3, 1849 at the Registrars Office in the town of Clones. Their residence at the time of marriage was Cairne. His father was Hugh Davis, farmer and her father William Bell, farmer. Is Cairne the name of a town as I can't find it on my Ireland map? Any help would be appreciated. Pat Butler

On my townland map of Clones Parish, there is a townland named "Carna" just northwest of Clones. It seems a likely match as townland spellings varied a great deal in those times.
