Patricia & Richard, Thank you for the words of wisdom. You've sold me - the LDS film is for the old church of Ireland. I also recognized them as English/Scots names. I just looked in a good source, "Irish Records, Sources for Family and Local History" by James G. Ryan, Ph.D. On page 375 under Church of Ireland Records: Parish: Clones Existing Records: b. 1682; m. 1682; d. 1682 On page 377 under Roman Catholic Records: Civil Parish: Clones RC Parish: Clones Earliest Record: b. July, 1848; m. May 1821 Missing Dates: b. April, 1854-Apr, 1855; m. March 1840-Oct, 1840. This would indicate that the Clones Church Records found on LDS Microfilm No. 0897416 are indeed the very old Church of Ireland records of Clones Parish.
