For those of you questioning the Clones 'evacuation', check your copies of "The Monaghan Story". During the period of 1685-1688 there was a change of kings, so to speak. The controversy was 'tween James and William. If you don't have a copy of that book, check your other Irish history books. Clones was one area, so I'm told, that didn't get ravaged during that little 'set-to'. On my way to Monaghan and counties south next week Looking forward to experiencing the Irish Summer that I'm told happens about now.........we'll see. jean.
