    3. Hello My GG grandmother was Rose Brannigan/Bannigan from the Ballybay/Lattacrum area. Her husband was Bernard Mc Cudden and my G grandmother was Bridget Mc Cudden who married Owen McGuinness and emigrated to Australia in 1859. I do not have Bridget's exact birth date but it is variously recorded as between 1832 and 1841 so her mother would have been born early 1800's. There is a good possibility that they were cousins. What do you think? I don't have a lot of information except as above but a cousin of mine researching the Mc Guinness family has had contact with Bernard (Benny) McCudden who still lives in the area. Although he wrote several times after returning to Australia from his trip in 1995 he never received a reply but did get a Christmas card one year I believe. Don't think Benny was unfriendly probably just not a good correspondent. I would be very interested if you have any other information. 3. Just noted you were tracing family from Ballybay as I am. I have a book "At the Ford of The Birches" by James H. and Peadar Murnane in which he mentions PEADAR McCUDDEN on page 506 as being on a winning Rugger team in 1942 (as one to two from Ballybay on the County team) and on page 516 a Fr. Peadar Mc Cudden a native of Ballybay who was a prominent player and then Parish Priest in Perth Australia presented a cup to honour the club's Senior Player of the year.( appears to be prior to 1987) Good Hunting. -- We are trying to locate the Ancestors or siblings of James Marshall who was born in 1821 in Ballybay Co. Monaghan Ireland and who with his brother John came to Canada in or before 1845. James settled in Manvers Township (in then Durham County, Upper Canada ) now Victoria County, Ontario . They reportedly landed at Port Hope and came North. John stopped in the Bewdley area and was not heard of again. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. All the information that I have been able to capture is included on our site. www3.sympatico.ca/fmarshall
