    3. Hi Lorraine, I do a lot of research through my local FHC. I've found using the Family History Library Catalog on-line at the LDS website invaluable. If you haven't visited this site, www.familysearch.org , I highly recommend it. From the main web page select Browse Categories, then Libraries, and then Family History Library Catalog. You can use various search criteria to locate film/fiche, then print out the film number(s), and order them at your local FHC (if they don't have them on-site). With regards to your records of interest, I found that the LDS has copies of these records. They were originally kept in the NARA. They are 900+ films of St. Albans District records from 1895 to 1954. Fortunately, there are Soundex index films which makes your job much easier. To locate the Soundex film that you're interested in go to the LDS website as I described. Select All Searches, then Author Search. Type in the following author: United States. Immigration and Naturalization Service You'll find the following title in the search results: St. Albans District manifest records of aliens arriving from foreign contiguous territory : arrivals at Canadian border ports from January 1895 to June 30, 1954 ; Indexes (Soundex), 1895-1952 Select this and then select the View Film Notes button. You can then find the film number of interest in the following pages. If you have problems or questions, let me know. Regards, Eric Strennen Researching: STRENNEN, STREENAN, SREENAN
