Hi Have you by chance noticed a John Short born abt 1839 Monaghan (maybe town) son of John Short & Elizabeth ? On arrival in Oz in 1863, with new wife, Mary Hely (from Co Longford), he stated his trade to be a Cordwainer(Bootmaker). Maybe his father taught him this trade. I keep asking cause somebody sometime might just come acress them!
