Hi Peggy: I suggest you take a look at the CANADA ORANGE HERITAGE SITE at: http://members.tripod.com/~firstlight_2/CDN.ORANGE.htm and some it's links. You will find lots of information there. There is also Orangenet at: http://www.orangenet.org/ with historical, genealogical and cultural information about Orangeism around the world. As well there is a Mailing List hosted through Rootsweb called the Canada Orange Mailing List open to members of the public and members of the Orange Order. It's purpose is to discuss and exchange historical, genealogical and cultural information about the members of the Orange association that came to Canada and their descendants. Politics is banned from the List. It has about 150 members primarily from Canada and the USA whose ancestors were Orangemen or Orange women. To subscribe send the message "subscribe" to: Can-Orange-L-request@rootsweb.com Good luck. Brian >I am researching my Williamson family history in County Monaghan Ireland. My ggg grandfather Henry Williamson was born there in 1818 and was one of eight children. According to a biography I found on him in an Ontario Genealogy book (he immigrated there in 1849), he was an Orangeman when he lived in Ireland. Can anyone tell me exactly what an Orangeman was. I am new to researching my Irish heritage. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you > >Peggy >peggyrancilio@worldnet.att.net >
