I am researching my Williamson family history in County Monaghan Ireland. My ggg grandfather Henry Williamson was born there in 1818 and was one of eight children. According to a biography I found on him in an Ontario Genealogy book (he immigrated there in 1849), he was an Orangeman when he lived in Ireland. Can anyone tell me exactly what an Orangeman was. I am new to researching my Irish heritage. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Peggy peggyrancilio@worldnet.att.net
