To: William F Broderick >From : Colin Ferguson Jane Lyons was kind enough to post your message on the Monaghan mailing list. I was indeed sad to learn of your father's death and even shocked for I had spoken with him only three weeks ago. By EMAIL I had offered him a suggestion for his site and a minor correction regarding a Townland in County Cork. He took the trouble to look for my name in the phone book and give me a call. We spoke for 15 to 20 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed that phone call. His passion for the project was clear and I could tell that he was a "stickler" for accuracy much like myself. I have used his site at least once a week for the past year and very much appreciate its value. I can imagine that this is just one example of probably hundreds if not thousands of similiar phone calls that he must have made. That community at large has lost not only a valuable researcher but a man who helped make life that much more enjoyable.
