Researching Duffy/Carroll Thomas Duffy b. abt. 1820 m. Mary Carroll b. abt. 1820 daughter of Michael and Mary Carroll in Monaghan in the early 1840s. The emigrated to America in 1843 or 1844 and ended up in Pawtucket RI by 1847 or earlier. They had nine children. The first Owen born in Ireland or "on the high sea". The rest born in Pawtucket which at the time was North Providence. They belonged to St. Mary's and lived on George St. In addition to Owen 3 other sons lived to adulthood John, Michael and Francis.
