My gggg grandfather Hugh DAVIS had sons John DAVIS and Hugh DAVIS. John DAVIS born May 24, 1819 in Donegal married Maria BELL born 1830 County Monaghan. Marriage was September 3, 1849 in Clones, Monaghan. Maria's father was William BELL. John and Maria had a son Hugh DAVIS born June 15, 1850 in Ireland. Hugh DAVIS was born 1824 in Donegal, Ireland marrying an Elizabeth in Ontario and had 4 children between 1859-65 that I know of. John, Maria, baby Hugh and John's brother Hugh came over to Canada 1850 when the baby was few weeks old and landed in Ontario eventually settling in the Arran Township of Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. There was a further 8 children born to the couple. On the marriage certificate both fathers, Hugh DAVIS and William BELL, were farmers and John and Maria's residence was Cairne. Witnesses were Elizabeth THOMPSON and James DAVIS. Religion was Methodist. Patricia Butler, Vernon, British Columbia
