In response to the roll call, here are my Monaghan ancestors that I am researching: Patrick McKenna married Ann McGahey in 1825 in Co. Monaghan. Their children, all born in Ireland, are: James McKenna b:1830 d: 1900 married Eliza McCarthy in Minnesota Ellen McKenna b: May 8, 1832 d: January 25, 1917 married Joseph Hagerty, December 24, 1856 in Hastings, Minnesota Ann McKenna b: 1841 married John Hagerty (Joseph's brother), 1857 in Rice County, Minnesota Mary McKenna married Thomas Loftus, 1860 in Rice County, Minnesota The McKenna family immigrated in 1845 and originally settled in Providence, Rhode Island. James was the first to move to Shieldsville, Rice County, Minnesota. Ellen, my gggrandmother, followed him and the rest of the family followed her.
