Hi all, I am not certain if this avenue of research has been mentioned recently - if so, pardon the repeat. It was recently suggested to me that I check the Archives of the Scotch-Irish list for my ROGERS and MORRISON families. (Yes, *all* letters to this list get archived and they are indexed by not only subject, but by content.) All one has to do to check out *any* Rootsweb list is to go to their Archives at: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Then type in the letters of the list name, in this case, for this list: IRL-MONAGHAN-L Then, check all of the years listed. (Scotch-Irish has been around for more years in this case.) Not expecting much (Oh, me of little faith), I typed in Emyvale and up popped a person's post from 1998! And..... she was looking for ROGERS in Emyvale. I wrote; her e-mail address was valid; I have just heard today and we will see what we can come up with together. Hopefully, this story will have an even happier ending. So.... don't forget to check out those posts and also all the GenForum Surname pages as well. That's at: http://genforum.genealogy.com/ I was able to give a gentleman the names of his ancestors - He thought he would never find the maiden name of his ggg grandmother, but thanks to deeds and other research which I had done, he now knows. Hopefully these tips will help someone find their ancestors as well.
