Hi everyone I am slowly piecing this family together, but still have not been able to establish a location within Co Monaghan from which they came. Happy to share info with anyone who finds a connection: Lancelot WEIR and his wife Margaret and at least two children, Mary b. 1828 and Robert b. 1830 emigrated to Canada in 1837 and settled in Hamilton Township, Northumberland County (just north of what is now Cobourg, Ontario). There are several WEIR families in the area in the 19th century censuses, so some of Lancelot's brothers may also have come.
