July 1880 Thomas Hamill appeared in Castleblayney court on alleged manslaughter of an 8 year old neighbour Thomas Duffy. The Northern Standard July 10th 1880, gives the account of the case being referred to the next assizes which may have been soon afterwards... I am searching for the follow up and/or end of the case and would be grateful for any suggestions... apparently Hamill was acquitted. . Roisin
