Good morning from not so sunny England!!! My Irish/ Co.Monaghan roots are vague to say the least! My gt gt grandfather Joseph Smyth joined the army, Royal Engineers, in 1849 in Glasgow. He was a wheeler, born 1827 in Kilmore, Co.Monaghan. His father was Joseph Smith/Smyth, mother was Elisabeth HUGHES. And that is all I know about the Irish side!!
