    2. I can't find him in the civil birth index, which suggests he was born before 1864. However, there is a possibility in the 1901 census. If you search for William Armstrong in Antrim, Church of Ireland, born in Monaghan, you'll find one age 42 with wife Annie, age 27 and Catholic. I don't find them in 1911 but you might hunt around a bit. Ages on death certificates not all that reliable as informant obviously not the deceased.) You might also try posting to Antrim and Belfast lists, as someone may be able to direct you to an obituary or some other useful information. My grandfather was born in Co Monaghan and I have the Griffith Valuation etc but I went to the Church of Ireland HQ in Dublin last year to see if I could find out his date of birth. I believe he was born in the 1850/60's but they could not help me. Know he married in 1900 in Belfast and Died in Belfast 1931 (have his death certificate) and on the death cert. he says he was 71. I have looked at the church records but can't find him. Have found his brothers and sister, his parent's deaths. (All were living in Muckno and they died there as well except my grandfather who lived in Belfast until his death). Would love to know his birth date. Can any of your members help? His name was William Hamilton Armstrong. 3. There is one William Armstrong on the RootsIreland database: 1 match for the search criteria: Armstrong william 1851 Parish: CLONES (CI) http://monaghan.rootsireland.ie/ You might be able to tell by adding his father's name, whether you want to purchase this record. http://monaghan.rootsireland.ie/ Good luck!
