I too have been trying to buy a copy over the net but seem to have lost contact with the author. could you check for Marshalls in the Ballybay area around the 1790 to 1820's thank you very much. --
Dear Anita, Wonderful offer you made. Are there any Flacks or Lynches in Full Circle. If there are, I want to buy it , so no need to copy all--just tell me how many and if records start before 1800. Thanks so much. Hello all! I have recently received a copy of Full Circle, the history of the Ballybay Presbyterian community. If anyone would like a look-up, please let me know. Anita
I have just been looking at that film myself. I am morally certain that most of the families are not Catholic. Almost all the names in the film are English or Scottish. I noticed the 1690 comment about the Protestant inhabitants leaving, but I also found no records which would prove that any events were recorded while they were absent. Livingstone in his history of Monaghan does not mention an evacuation in 1690, but he does mention that in 1689 "The settlers in the Clones area [English and Scottish] abandoned their country dwellings and formed themselves into small garrisons at the Montgomery house in Ballyleck, at Redhills, and at Captain Townley's." But that event is described at the beginning of a chapter entitled "The Settlers Consolidate"; most of those who evacuated must have returned very soon. I just reviewed LDS film # 0897416 & it was titled, "Register of Clones Parish, Diocese of Clogher & County Monaghan". It sure was interesting, but I believe the records are Catholic records. I found a note in the marriage records of 1690 that said "The 19th day of the month of March, the last of the Protestant inhabitants deserted the town and parish of Clones the Irish possession themselves of that part of the county." If I'm wrong, I apologize & hope that someone will set the record straight. Hi, I'm a bit late on commenting on this topic, but I was away in Ireland [and Co. Monaghan] until a few days ago. Unless I'm very mistaken, I do believe that the Clones Church Records on LDS film No. 0897416 to which you refer, are not Catholic Church records, but actually for the Clones Parish Church of Ireland, which covers Clones Parish both in Co. Monaghan and Co. Fermanagh. I've looked at these records several times and my recollection is that they were Church of Ireland records and, by the way, very interesting ones. Hi all, Has anyone an idea of where Raw Deer Park is located near the Cavan Border? What other name it may be known as or what townlands it may comprise? Al Beagan
