    1. [MONAGHAN~] Full Circle: Cahan's Exodus
    2. Hello all. I have managed to answer the requests rec'd so far for look-ups, and even managed to get most of them to the individuals and not the list. <grin> HOWEVER, the index to FULL CIRCLE is dreadful. There are numerous names that apprear in the text that are not indexed. I have done my best as I have read the text to catch any names I've been asked about, but I can't guarantee that I have succeeded. If anyone needs a good project, indexing this book would be great! 3. For those of you questioning the Clones 'evacuation', check your copies of "The Monaghan Story". During the period of 1685-1688 there was a change of kings, so to speak. The controversy was 'tween James and William. If you don't have a copy of that book, check your other Irish history books. Clones was one area, so I'm told, that didn't get ravaged during that little 'set-to'. On my way to Monaghan and counties south next week Looking forward to experiencing the Irish Summer that I'm told happens about now.........we'll see. jean.

    3. Richard, you are correct about the names and about the desertion of the Protestants from the area for a few years, which did cause a break in the church records. I also recognized them as English/Scots names. I just looked in a good source, "Irish Records, Sources for Family and Local History" by James G. Ryan, Ph.D. On page 375 under Church of Ireland Records: Parish: Clones Existing Records: b. 1682; m. 1682; d. 1682 On page 377 under Roman Catholic Records: Civil Parish: Clones RC Parish: Clones Earliest Record: b. July, 1848; m. May 1821 Missing Dates: b. April, 1854-Apr, 1855; m. March 1840-Oct, 1840. This would indicate that the Clones Church Records found on LDS Microfilm No. 0897416 are indeed the very old Church of Ireland records of Clones Parish. 3. Hi Anita Thank you for the generous offer to do lookups in Ballybay. I have a Moses Cherry, son of John and Catherine (nee McCoy), born c. 1775 in the line I'm researching for my brother-in-law. Is there any mention of Moses and/or parents and siblings in Full Circle? 2. Faith, here again to say that while there is no McCrory in the index, there is a William McRory in the list of members of the congregation of Cahan's who subscribed to the call from Thomas Clark. Maybe an alternate spelling? Anita

    2. Dear Anita: I think you are probably swamped with requests! Would you mind looking for BEATY/BEATTYs and KEOUNs? I have not been able to find out anything about the KEOUNs especially. They migrated to SC where there were only KEOWNs. Mine seems to be the only family that spelled it with a "u"! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sharon Rogers

    3. Thanks anyway it was worth a try. -- We are trying to locate the Ancestors or siblings of James Marshall who was born in 1821 in Ballybay Co. Monaghan Ireland and who with his brother John came to Canada in or before 1845. James settled in Manvers Township (in then Durham County, Upper Canada ) now Victoria County, Ontario . They reportedly landed at Port Hope and came North. John stopped in the Bewdley area and was not heard of again. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. All the information that I have been able to capture is included on our site. www3.sympatico.ca/fmarshall
