    3. Dave, RE: 12th May 1811 William Dawson, aged 22, Cormeen married Jane Beatty, age 19, Cordressigo at Ematris. This email made me prick up my ears. Do you think that this William DAWSON may belong in the following DAWSON family? If so, do you happen to know more about the Margaret (whose last name I don't know) who died in 1773 in Rockcorry. Part of my interest is in the OLIVERs of Cordressigo who turn up in the 1911 census (see beneath). Anyway, here is what I have on these DAWSONs: Descendants of Margaret Unnamed 1 Margaret Unnamed d: 22 Oct 1773 in of Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan .. +Unnamed Dawson d: Bef. 1773 ........ 2 Elinor Dawson ............ +Andrew Oliver b: 1748 in Probably Tullymore, Parish of Armagh, Co. Armagh d: Bet. 1788 - 1793 in of Newtownhamilton m: 1771 in Tullnaloob, Co. Fermanagh, Ireland ........ 2 Elizabeth Dawson ............ +William Aston ........ 2 Susanna Dawson ........ 2 Samuel Dawson d: Bet. 1776 - 1778 in of Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan ........ 2 Margaret Dawson The Elinor DAWSON who married Andrew OLIVER had a number of children - but I do not know any of their names. SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1777Sept8_OLIVER-VERNER.html and http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1785Oct26_OLIVER-McMATH.html This is why I found it interesting when the 1901 census showed the following OLIVERs in Cordressigo: Descendants of Unnamed Oliver 1 Unnamed Oliver .. +Elizabeth Possibly d: in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ........ 2 William Oliver b: Abt. 1831 in Monaghan d: Aft. 1911 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............ +Mary Unnamed b: 1836 m: 1877 d: Aft. 1911 ........ *2nd Wife of William Oliver: ............ +Unnamed m: 1877 d: Bet. 1867 - 1877 ................... 3 John Oliver b: 1867 d: Aft. 1911 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ....................... +Mary Unnamed m: 1898 ............................. 4 William Oliver b: 1899 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 Jane Oliver b: 1901 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 William John Oliver b: 1902 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove ............................. 4 Susan Oliver b: 1903 in of Cordressigo, Dawsons Grove The only other clue that I can offer is that these OLIVERs were Church of Ireland. Does anyone have further thoughts? 3. In the past month, I have written and posted a number of new pieces on my web site. The focus in these pieces has been on people connected to Counties Armagh and Louth - but these families also had connections to Counties Monaghan and Antrim. The easiest way to access the pieces for many people is to start with my What's New link at: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/misc/whatsnew.htm The new pages are (from most recently posted): John Charles COULTER (Nov 1840 - bet. 1914-1917) - the mystery surrounding his death and an exploration of his possible family connection to the COULTERs of Carrickastuck. The knowledge of the story is thanks to a series of emails in 2009 from Lainey (Elaine) Machovsky. 1911 Census of Killynure and notes NAMES: COUSER, STOOPS, CARROLL, FINEGAN, CAROLAN, BROWN, MONTGOMERY, SMYTH, MACKLE, FEGAN. Andrew Bradford OLIVER(1818-1877) This is a complete rewriting of this biography with new photos and information. JACKSONs of Creggan and Drogheda There is mounting evidence that there may be a connection between the JACKSONs of Creggan and the JACKSONs of late 1600s and early 1700s Drogheda. In time, this may or may not be proven. It will depend on not only the truth of whether or not there is a connection, but also whether there are enough available records to make the case compellingly. This page also references: Council book of Drogheda - Jackson references Starting in 1657, the first generation -Richard JACKSON of Drogheda (carpenter, sheriff etc.) - seems to have been quite successful. His son, Alderman Richard JACKSON also seems to have succeeded although his various pension requests in 1713-1715 lead one to wonder how well he was doing near the end of his life. By 1727, his son George seems even more financially precarious as he pleads for money so he can place his two sons as apprentices. The Corporation finally says, enough in 1730: and yt for the future, no petition or application be received from the said George Jackson for any further relief. This work was significantly helped thanks to the index of this book created to Brendan Hall. PIPPARDs of County Louth Deeds. This page is not meant to be an exhaustive summary of all deeds pertaining to the PIPPARDs of County Louth. It only includes the ones that I have found as part of exploring JACKSON-PIPPARD connections as well as ones that can be found on Nick Reddan's excellent site. As in all of this work, we are all standing on the shoulders of others. As always, if there are any errors - I love to be notified so I can fix them ASAP. Also, if you know more about some of these stories, I'd like to hear from you as well. 3. Hi there, I have received the marriage record for William Kells and Jane Brennan. This was at Drung Church, Cootehill. It lists Mathrew Kells in presence. William age is listed as 21 years old, which on the 1901 was listed as 50, making him born in 1851. His father was listed as Francis Kells. I have not found William Kells birth. I have found a Francis Kells married Margaret Armstrong/ Johnson in 1847, and a Francis Kells married Mary Rennick in 1944 in Clones, Monaghan. Any idea's on solving this one. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Flo

    3. Hello, Am looking for a William Robinson from Caddagh, Ballybay. He wrote a letter to his late brother's wife in 1884 so I know that he was still alive then. His wife was Mary Mosset. They had two boys that I know of Ralph and Joseph. I think that Ralph was a horsebreeder in the area and Joseph went to America and married and had children. I am related to his brother John (b. abt. 1834 ) who came to Australia and also his brother Benjamin (b. abt. 1837) came abt. 1855. Their parents were Michael Robinson and Ellen Ralph. They had abt. 11 children and they were born in the Borrisokane/Cloughjordan/Kilbarron area. If anyone can help me re this family would be wonderful. Regards Lesley [email protected]

    3. I have just realized that for some time the search engine I am using in the IGP Archives was skipping a lot of counties. My own fault. I had set up something incorrectly. If you relied on the search engine, then I would ask that you retry your search. There is a lot on the site that was being missed. I am so sorry. I should have realized something was wrong sooner. When I did my monthly search for new data, I became suspicious since counties were not showing up that I knew that had added pages. The url to start is http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ You can search using the drop down box to search your county of interest. Christina the chagrined http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/

    1. [IRL-MONAGHAN] Charles McKenna - Emyvale, Co Monaghan
    2. Karen
    3. Hi all, My Roman Catholic ancestor Charles Bernard McKenna was born around 1842 - he emigrated to Queensland Australia. On his (Aust.) marriage certificate he states his place of birth as Aughdissy (sorry spelling will be wrong, I can't read the writing), Co. Monaghan. Then on his son's birth certificate he names his place of birth as Emyvale, Co Monaghan On his marriage certificate he names his parents as Ross McKenna and Mary McKenna. We know he had a sister Catherine because we have letters from her daughter Mary McKenna - so Catherine's married name was McKenna too. Catherine had daughters named Rose, Catherine and Mary and at least one son. Rose emigrated to America and Mary was there at some time because one of letters comes from there (Rose married a James McBride and lived in Paterson, N.J.) In the letter that Mary writes to inform of her mother's death on 12 September 1912 - she said she "brought her home to Errigal Trough, she was buried in the grave with her father and mother". Catherine and her mother were living in Belfast (I have seen the 1911 census). I would like to find out more information about Ross and Mary McKenna and details of the children that they had. I would like to know where to search online. And it is possible a relative will be traveling to Ireland this year, so we would like to know places that she could visit to search for records. I would appreciate any help you can give, Cheers, Karen (Australia)
