    3. Hi Lyn, Yes, James Curran was my g g grandfather and he married Ann Connelly. I have their Australian death registrations and their children's birth regs. in digital form and can email them to you. I have come to a brick wall searching Monaghan for information. But maybe we can break that wall down. One of the registrations states Monaghan, Monaghan so, I assumed it was Monaghan Town in County Monaghan. Will have to go to my old computer and transfer the files to my new computer. Oooh this is exciting. 3. When I started researching my family I didn't know who I was going to find so in my travels I photographed g/stones in ...Clones from 1815, Currin, Glennan, Tyholland, Killeevan, Ballinode, Old Tydavnet, New Tydavnet, Aghabog, Caledon, Clogh, Clonaneese, Tynan, Newbliss amongst others.. In the course of doing this I met quite a few people (with digital cameras) walk around looking for "theirs", these people complained about lack of on line records yet never took any photos that could contribute to the pool of on line data. All the graveyards could have been photographed 20 times over by now if people made some effort. Not everyone lives in or can get to Ireland but it seems that those who do make very little attempt, if any, to make any contribution. The main reason for lack information for Monaghan is the lack of contributors. 3. I have updated the page with the renaming of one of the columns and the addition of the bits around "Keneth": SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/TABLES/1600-CAVAN-Property.html I have an image of a useful map - but I got it from a source that I now can't trace (because of my sometimes inconsistent record-keeping). It was called "Fig 4 - Ulster plantation allocation of lands in Cavan 1610-20" and the only hint at the title that I have is "Cavan Essays Book" - which sounds more like a description of the book rather than a title. I would suspect that it is covered by copyright, hence I would not be able to share it. One of them is Keneth. There are others. We find, however, that this patent was in fact originally given to Esme Stuart, Lord Aubigny. Looking for those records may be of great help. We'd need a good townland map to see. I am no expert and I also appreciate suggestions for improvement of the materials. If you spot any errors (they are virtually guaranteed!), I will fix them ASAP. I am also sending this to lists of neighbouring counties. I have noticed that our ancestors did not necessarily stay put - and nearby countries are places where we can count on them to have strayed. Firstly, there is the list that Coote replicated from Pynnar on lands in 1618-1619 <http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/TABLES/1600s-CavanLandowners.html>. Secondly, a page where I make a stab at following the older place names <http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/TABLES/1600-CAVAN-Property.html> into what they are more frequently known as today. Thirdly, early sightings of JACKSONs in Co. Cavan <http://www.thesilverbowl.com/history/JACKSONs-Cavan.html>. Finally, a list of the proprietors in Co.
