Dear List, My gr. grandmother Mary Clark born 1862 in Glasgow, Scotland was the illegetimate daughter of Helen Broadley/Bradley and Neil Clark. On her daughter's birth certificate Helen Broadley/Bradley gave her address as 83 New Wynd St, Glasgow. I checked the 1861 census for 83 New Wynd St., Glasgow and did not find Helen living there but, I did find an Owen Bradley, married, age 32, place of birth Ireland, living at that exact address. It seems only logical to assume that Helen and Owen were related in some way. I have no information about Helen Bradley/Broadley other than the reference to 83 New Wynd St. in Glasgow. Therefore: I am trying to find Owen who I have more information about and hopefully when I find him it will lead me to Helen. A kind gentleman found an Owen Bradley in his family tree, his Owen's date and place of birth match the Owen I am looking for. Owen was b. Jan., 3, 1830? Baptized into Roman Catholic Church, Oldcastle Parish, County Meath. Parents: Thomas Bradley, b. abt 1762. 2nd marriage Feb., 29 1824 to Bridget Sheridan. Thomas Bradley b. 1762 1st. marriage Juffy Rielly abt. 1789. Would anyone on the list know how I could access these church records? Are they available to the puplic on microfilm perhaps? I would like to check these records and see if I can find a Helen Bradley/Broadley born about 1840. Any information or suggestions would be very greatly appreciated. My gr. grandmother Mary Clark grew up in Edinburgh at the United Industrial and came to Canada in 1879 as a home child. We have absolutely no information about her parents other than what was on her birth record. I have gone through all the 1861 census for Glasgow and did not find Helen anywhere. I also checked all 11 reels of microfilm for the 1871 Edinburgh census and came up empty. I hope someone out there can help me. Sincerely, Carol Deckers
