    1. [MEATH] BROWN - CONNELL - JONES
    2. Thomas BROWN, b 1800, Ireland, and wife Jane CONNELL, b 1808, Ireland are believed to be from the Meath-Westmeath area. They emigrated to Shaftsbury, Vermont, USA between 1843 and 1846 where they farmed. They moved to Mansfield, Cattaraugus County, New York about 1852. Six of their seven children were John b 1836, Mary 1840, Margaret 1843, all born Ireland, and Andrew 1846, Thomas 1849, and James 1850, all born Vermont. Jane was the sister of Margaret CONNELL who married Edward JONES at Clonmellon RC parish in 1840. That RC parish covers parts of Meath and Westmeath. The Joneses also emigrated to Mansfield, N.Y. Thomas died 1879, Jane 1880, both in Mansfield and are buried at the RC cemetery, Ellicottville, N.Y. with four of their children. Seeking information as to the origins of the Brown and Connell families in Ireland. Thanks, Tom O'Hare, Buffalo, N.Y.
