Hi Judi, A couple of suggestions... Could Kalkelkeen in County Meath possibly be Killucan in Co.Westmeath or Co. Tyrone? 1) You can use the IreAtlas Townland Database on the Leitrim-Roscommon website to type in the name of a townland or part of the name and see the names of counties in all of Ireland with a townland by that name, or part of the name. In the case of Killucan, I typed in KILLU, and both Westmeath and Tyrone have townlands with that name. Here is the site for the IreAtlas Townland Database: <http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/> 2) You can use the website at the Irish Times to look up your ancestors surname and find out how many families with the name were living in the various counties of Ireland during the time of the Griffith's Valuation 1848-1864. Here is the Irish Times website: <www.ireland.com> When you get to the site, scroll down the page and look on the lower right side of the webpage, you will see "Ancestors", click there and when that webpage comes up look to the upper left and enter your surname. There were several variants of Jameson (ieson, eison, ison, sons, etc.). There were only two spelled Jameson, one in Co. Tyrone, and one in Co. Wexford. The spelling can often be off, depending on who is giving the information, recording it, etc. Good luck, Denise
