My cousins find the oldest version of surname OWEN in Wales. My Owen cousins say the family was a long time in north and south Ireland. I don't know how long is long, but in a very old map of Munster I found a territory called Owenaught. As Conn stands for the founders of Connaught, does Owen also stand for the early clans who founded Munster? There is a little genealogy and a lot of history in this question.
