Both resided in PHILLISTOWN at time of marriage. John was a steward & Kate was a servant. The marriage was witnessed by Patrick BOYLE & Bridget SHAULY. Kate BANNON was born abt Jul 1854 to; Michael BANNON, labourer (from marriage cert) and Mary unkn BANNON (from son Michael's birth record) According to Sean Ruad's website, PHILLISTOWN is comprised of 92 Acres, County Meath, Barony of Upper Navan Civil Parish of Trim PLU: Trim Prov: Leinster In 1872 they had a son Michael, born 28 April. According to Civil Birth Reg pg 1090 they were now living in NORTH COMMONS, Trim, Meath. John is still a steward. Mary BANNON, grandmother, present at birth of NORTH COMMONS was informant. Registered 10 May 1872. >From LDS Film # 0926185 Parish Register 1829 - 1880 the baptism: Michael was baptised May ?st (blotch on date)...sponsors were Thomas COMMONS (Connors?) & Mary MARTIN North Commons, today, is a part of the town of Trim. John, Kate & Michael KELLYcame to US in 1873 & settled in Jersey City, NJ. They had 12 children, 9 surviving per 1900 census. John KELLY died in Jersey City 2 May 1905. He was a laborer. Children, all born US except for Michael, who was killed at age 19 in RR accident... John, married Bridget (Bessie) MORAN... (my grandparents) William, married Barbara MILLER Katie, married Henry RATHGEBER Annie, married Patrick McTAGUE Jennie Elizabeth Arthur, married Lucy MAYNARD Alice, married Otto (Butch) MILDENBURGER Joseph, Edward Lawrence Francis Patrick died at age 4 I do not know if John or Kate had any siblings...
