Hi Nancy Thank you so much for all this valuable information you have given me. It has put lots of things in perspective. I am trying to build up a dossier on researching in Co Meath so your e-mail will definately form part of it. I have found some info from the internet but I have yet to try the National Library site. I am especially seeking Army records. My James Cooke Nugent was in the army for over 17years in total and reached the rank of Sergeant before he was discharged due to his Rheumatism. He was discharged in 1800 as a Chelsea pensioner in Chatham in Kent which is probably why he ended his days in London rather than in Ireland. I believe he may have married once he left the army rather than before because his children were not born until c 1810. I still have to find their baptism as they are not on the IGI. many regards MOIRA
