Yes Owens is a good old protestant name! The only Owens I know was the Revd Owens, one time vicar of Oldcastle and Loughcrew, who became the Bishop of Killaloo (I think that's where it was). This was in the 1950s. Looking for any connections whatsoever for OWENS in Meath/Louth. Especially in Julianstown, though any information is welcome. They were Church of Ireland, and seem to have been moderately prosperous (had the vote; called Esq. in newspapers & MIs; etc.) This is my known OWENS family in Meath & Louth: 1. Hi Steve, I inadvertently misled you - the family I was referring to were OWEN as opposed to OWENS. Keep looking!
