    3. > Hi Bryan, > Have you checked the MI's for Loughcrew & Oldcastle ? if not I have copies and can check for you Thanks Carol - although we were at the Oldcastle and Loughcrew churchyards, the rain was torrrential! The Melvins were protestants, and closely related to the Bowers family. I'd appreciate any MI info you might have. > I also have family who came fron Baltrasna How very interesting - maybe they all knew each other! Have you any idea how I woulkd establish the names of the farms that made up a 'Townland'? The information must be there somewhere. The Townlands I'm interested in are Baltrasna and Thomastown. Sincere thanks Bryan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Hopkins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, June 29, 2002 2:23 AM Subject: Re: [MEATH] MELVIN of Thomastown and Baltrasna

    3. In your Oldcastle research, Carol, have you ever come across a McGaughran family? I'm looking for Mary McGaughran. I have a bible record claiming she came from there. Her birth is 1835'ish. She would have immigrated to here, in the US, prior to 1859. 3. Carol: I saw your offer to Bryan to lookup in the Oldcastle MI's. I wonder, a bit boldly perhaps, if I could ask you do me a large favour and look for MILLIE as a surname. I have a Henry MILLIE who shows up in Griffiths as being at Tubride, Oldcastle parish, County Meath. Many Thanks David Thompson London, Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Hopkins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, June 28, 2002 9:23 PM Subject: Re: [MEATH] MELVIN of Thomastown and Baltrasna Hi Bryan, Have you checked the MI's for Loughcrew & Oldcastle ? if not I have copies and can check for you, I also have family who came fron Baltrasna........... 3. Carol I forgot to note that the MILLIE's were likely Scots presbyterian.
