I recently contacted the Meath Heritage & Genealogy Centre by email at [email protected] because on their website (which does NOT list the email address, by the way) they have a form you can print and fill in with your request and a payment amount, but listed no means by which they would accept payment. I included in the email note what I was looking for. In a day or two I received a reply saying they could research my family (they gave a different, higher cost), and that they would take a personal check from the US. I sent it in, and already I have what I was looking for, plus a little bit more. A kind lister provided me with the email address. Because I asked about someday making a trip there, they let me know that the office was confined and they could not accommodate researchers. They did say, however, that they have indexed all the parish records for County Meath. Obviously, some go back further than others. It was worth it for me to contact them. The idea that they have indexed all the parish records should appeal to those who are flustered by the lack of response by individual parish priests.
Wow! It sure is more appealing. Thanx for the email address. In what they sent you, were you able to confirm that individual persons were those you were seeking, say someone who immigrated to another country?
