    3. If this list is up for adoption, then I would be interested... David Grierson From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [MEATH] Lost mail Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2003 16:47:35 EST It's a long story, but as of a few hours ago, I no longer have access to the file on my hard-drive........which contains about 6000 letters sent to me (mostly from the Irish lists) and which I wanted to keep for future use/reference. I still have use of a similar number of letters which I have sent to various lists/individuals (and they are now backed-up....now that I know how to do it. One day too late.) If anyone out there is awaiting a reply from me, I'm afraid that you'll have to write again. Sorry. 3. Hi Pete, I am sorry to hear of the disaster - if it's any consolation, we've all done it!! My answer has been twofold - All my files are copied on to CDs using a cheap CD-RW, and secondly, I learnt how to write web pages and I store them there as well. Most ISPs give you about ten megabytes of disc space to play with, and that's enough to paper over the Berkshire Hills, so it's a viable proposition. If there's any way I can help, let me know, even though I'm in Wales! Best wishes Bry _______/|\----------------/|\_____________/||=====||\_____ ...from Border Monmouthshire, between the Severn bridges See a Monmouthshire village at work: Visit the Caerwent Community website www.caerwentcom.com > > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [MEATH] Lost mail > Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2003 16:47:35 EST > > It's a long story, but as of a few hours ago, I no longer have access to the > file on my hard-drive........which contains about 6000 letters sent to me > (mostly from the Irish lists) and which I wanted to keep for future > use/reference. 1. [MEATH] Bradley/Broadley
    2. C Deckers
    3. Dear List, My gr. grandmother Mary Clark born 1862 in Glasgow, Scotland was the illegetimate daughter of Helen Broadley/Bradley and Neil Clark. On her daughter's birth certificate Helen Broadley/Bradley gave her address as 83 New Wynd St, Glasgow. I checked the 1861 census for 83 New Wynd St., Glasgow and did not find Helen living there but, I did find an Owen Bradley, married, age 32, place of birth Ireland, living at that exact address. It seems only logical to assume that Helen and Owen were related in some way. I have no information about Helen Bradley/Broadley other than the reference to 83 New Wynd St. in Glasgow. Therefore: I am trying to find Owen who I have more information about and hopefully when I find him it will lead me to Helen. A kind gentleman found an Owen Bradley in his family tree, his Owen's date and place of birth match the Owen I am looking for. Owen was b. Jan., 3, 1830? Baptized into Roman Catholic Church, Oldcastle Parish, County Meath. Parents: Thomas Bradley, b. abt 1762. 2nd marriage Feb., 29 1824 to Bridget Sheridan. Thomas Bradley b. 1762 1st. marriage Juffy Rielly abt. 1789. Would anyone on the list know how I could access these church records? Are they available to the puplic on microfilm perhaps? I would like to check these records and see if I can find a Helen Bradley/Broadley born about 1840. Any information or suggestions would be very greatly appreciated. My gr. grandmother Mary Clark grew up in Edinburgh at the United Industrial and came to Canada in 1879 as a home child. We have absolutely no information about her parents other than what was on her birth record. I have gone through all the 1861 census for Glasgow and did not find Helen anywhere. I also checked all 11 reels of microfilm for the 1871 Edinburgh census and came up empty. I hope someone out there can help me. Sincerely, Carol Deckers

    1. [MEATH] MARKEY & KENNEDY Surnames
    2. Liz Larsen
    3. Christmas Greetings everyone, My interest is in my ggg grandparents Patrick and Bridget MARKEY and their families. Patrick was born c1815 and married Bridget (nee KENNEDY) born c1819 around c1840. Their children were Barnard Brian (Bernard?) born c1841; Mary born c1844; Catherine Mary born c1850. I have idea in Meath where they may have come from so have hit a brickwall. NOTES: They all left for Tasmania (Van Diemens Land) aboard the ship "Panama" in 1853 from port of Liverpool to Hobart Town, Tasmania as "Assisted Immigrants 1841 - 1889". Their children were Barnard (Bernard?) born c1841; Mary born c1844 & Catherine born c1850 (this is my gg grandmother whose family later immigrated to New Zealand and I have all that line. Mary...I cannot find - she may have died soon after they arrived here? or moved onto marry elsewhere? They all settled and lived in the New Norfolk/Hamilton/Fenton Forest areas in Tasmania. (A few Markeys also went onto New Zealand). Alot of Markeys settled in Tasmania as immigrants during the famine and I have been told they could have all been related. There also is a tie somehow to "Castle Malahide" in Dublin. Barnard's children were as follows (out of interest for family naming patterns):- 1 Barnard Brian Markey 1841 - . +Charlotte Ransley 1846 - ........ 2 Bernard Markey 1868 - ........ 2 Catherine Markey 1869 - ........ 2 Charlotte Florence? Markey 1872 - ........ 2 Mary Markey 1874 - ........ 2 John Markey 1876 - ........ 2 Robert Markey 1883 - 1887 (died of snakebite) ........ 2 Patrick Richard Bryan Markey 1889 - Catherine's children were: 1 Catherine Mary Markey 1850 - + John Dalton 1828 - .........2 James Alfred Dalton 1868 - .........2 Alice Cecilia Dalton 1870 - .........2 Letitia 1872 - .........2 Rose 1874 - .........2 John 1878 - .........2 Henry Patrick 1880 - .........2 Estasia Catherine 1882 - ........ 2 Florence May 1887 - .........2 Francis 1888 - .........2 Bryan Fenton 1891 - If any of these names ring a bell then please mail me anytime. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions at all as I live in Australia. Liz Larsen Australia [email protected]
