It was the fact that your Owens' was connected to County Mayo that caught my attention. My great grandfather Thomas Owens was born in County Mayo in 1840. He married Annie Farrell in 1869 in County Mayo His father was Patrick Owens and his mothers maiden name was Mary Kenny. It is possible that Patrick and Mary may have left Ireland to live in Australia. Thomas and Annie left Ireland to live in Australia. Information has been difficult (almost impossible) to obtain from Irish sources pre 1850. Records show that Annie Farrell was born in Kings Count (also called Birr) Ireland in 1843 and her father was William Farrell and her mothers maiden name was Bridget Heaton. They married about 1829 in Parsontown Ireland. Thomas died in 1912 at Brunswick, Victoria, Australia and Annie also at Brunswick in 1883. Although I realize it is only a remote possibility another Owens researcher may have a connection with this line. I would be delighted to learn if another researcher identifies with this family.
